On 6 March 2026, VECECAB students began a new planting activity in the school garden.
The school garden serves two important purposes at VECECAB. It helps provide fresh food for the school, while at the same time giving students practical agricultural training.
Students learn how to prepare the soil, plant vegetables, care for crops and understand what is needed to grow food successfully. These are useful skills they can also apply later at home or in their own communities.
In this way, the garden is not only helping feed the school today, but also teaching practical knowledge that can support students and their families in the future.
The garden is still growing. With more land available at the farm, VECECAB plans to expand the vegetable-growing area so that more food can be produced for the school and more students can gain practical agricultural experience.
The long-term aim is to make the garden an even stronger part of both food production and agricultural training at VECECAB.
What begins with planting today can help create food, knowledge and opportunity for the future.
