In the heart of Kyanakadde village, a powerful example of community spirit and environmental care came to life as the children of VECECAB School, together with their community leader, united to clean up the village.

Armed with gloves, bags and a strong sense of purpose, the students took to the streets to collect plastic waste and raise awareness about the importance of a clean and healthy environment.

Supported by teachers and local residents, the initiative aimed not only to remove litter, but also to encourage long-term change in how the village deals with plastic waste.

The presence of the community leader was a strong symbol of unity and leadership. Working side by side with the children, he showed that caring for the environment is everyone’s responsibility, regardless of age or status.

This clean-up event is part of VECECAB’s broader effort to teach students the value of sustainability, responsibility and active citizenship.

By learning through action, these young changemakers are helping to build a cleaner, greener future for Kyanakadde and beyond.
